Welcome to the 21st International Electoral Awards, taking place from October 1st to 4th, 2025 in Gaborone, Botswana. This prestigious event is co-hosted by the Independent Electoral Commission of Botswana and the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS).

Join leading electoral experts, innovators, and practitioners from across the globe to celebrate achievements in election management and explore the most pressing themes facing democracies today. While the core focus is the distinguished Awards Ceremony, the programme will include rich discussions on electoral integrity, inclusion, and technology.

Independent Electoral Commission of Botswana (IEC)

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of Botswana serves as the co-host and local partner of the 21st International Electoral Awards. Established in 1997 to enhance transparency and fairness in the electoral process, the IEC is responsible for conducting and supervising elections and referenda in Botswana. The Commission comprises seven members, including a High Court judge as Chairperson, and is guided by a mission to deliver impartial and innovative electoral services that foster democratic participation. With a vision to be a renowned provider of credible elections, the IEC plays a critical role in promoting electoral integrity and citizen engagement across the country.
