The International Centre for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS) is the organizer and host of the International Electoral Awards. The awards are an initiative to acknowledge notable contributions in the electoral management.
Independent Electoral Commission of Botswana (IEC)
The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of Botswana serves as the co-host and local partner of the 21st International Electoral Awards. Established in 1997 to enhance transparency and fairness in the electoral process, the IEC is responsible for conducting and supervising elections and referenda in Botswana. The Commission comprises seven members, including a High Court judge as Chairperson, and is guided by a mission to deliver impartial and innovative electoral services that foster democratic participation. With a vision to be a renowned provider of credible elections, the IEC plays a critical role in promoting electoral integrity and citizen engagement across the country.
